Tips & Techniques

About Us

1. Take an A6 card blank in cream textured card (or score and fold an A5 piece of card yourself)

2. Cut a piece of gold angel hair 4cm wide and the same height as your card (10.5cm).

3. Use PVA glue to attach the angel hair to the left hand side of the card next to the fold.

4. Take 3 paper roses and twist the stems together tightly. Bend the heads forward so they will face towards you when attached to the card.

5. Tie a piece of 3mm wide ribbon round the stem about 2cm below the rose heads.

6. Use a spot of PVA glue on the knot to arrange the ends of the ribbon pointing downwards. Add a small ribbon bow to cover the knot, again using PVA glue. If you are good at bows you can tie the ribbon ends into a bow yourself (We find it too fiddly).

7. Leave to dry until the glue is firmly set.

8. Trim the rose stems and ribbon ends to the required length. Glue down the back of the flower stems and fix to the card on the angel hair.

9. Add a peel-off sticker with your wording to the right hand side of the card. To make sure it is straight, work out the correct position for the wording and lay a ruler across the card. Lift one word at a time from the backing using a craft knife or large pin. The word may stretch - let it spring back to shape. Place gently onto the card aligning the base with the ruler - check it is straight remove the ruler and press down.

10. Print an insert onto cream paper using your computer (or use a bought insert), trim so it is just smaller than the card.

11. Attach to the inside of the card using a thin line of glue or double sided sticky tape on the left hand side of the fold.
