Christmas Gatefold Wedding Invitation

tag-template

This card is perfect for weddings this Christmas with it's rich festive colours and modern twist. We have used our beautiful Deep Red Vita paper and have added extra sophistication with our Old Gold square edged ribbon. The tag is a fantastic way of adding a little something extra and you can print any wording you like onto it, so it's perfect for you evening invitations too.

The colours on this card are easily adaptable, so if you aren't having a Christmas wedding but love the look you can play around with colours until you get just what you are looking for.

You will need;

  • Cream Hammer Square Gatefold card
  • Cream insert
  • Old Gold 20mm square edge organza ribbon
  • 3mm double sided satin ribbon
  • 1 sheet of deep red vita paper
  • 2 sheets of A4 cream hammer card
  • Adhesive tape pen
  • PVA glue

Print your insert and attach inside the card using the tape pen.

Cut the square edge organza ribbon to 30cm lengths. Use the adhesive tape pen along the entire length of the ribbon, wrap the ribbon horizontally around the middle of the card - it should just leave a small amount overlapping the opening. Using sharp scissors, trim so the card can open freely and there is a nice neat edge to the wrap.

Cut the 3mm gold double sided to 50cm long. Using a small brush apply PVA glue along the centre of the organza ribbon along the back and halfway along each side at the front. Attach the narrow satin ribbon and leave to dry - don't cut the excess just yet as you will need this to tie a bow.

Now make your tag. Using the template provided print the wording onto one of the A4 card sheets- we used Edwardian Script and a deep red font colour. You can amend the words as required.

From the second sheet of A4 card and the vita paper, cut out rectangles measuring 8.5cm x 5cm. Glue the vita paper onto the card. Trim 2 of the corners off to create the tag shape and punch a hole.

Place a dab of PVA glue between the edge of the tag and the hole and attach to the left side of the card, leaving half the hole over the edge. Leave to dry.

Bring the end of the ribbon from the right side under the tag and through the hole. Tie in a bow with the left side end of the ribbon across the tag.

Trim the excess ribbon from your bow and you have finished your Christmas inspired Wedding Invitation.
