Scrolls are a really versatile option for your wedding stationery. As well as great invitations they are unbeatable for style on a budget at your reception:
The designs shown here use either a wrap or a cuff of decorative paper To make a scroll with a wrap you will need:
Print your details onto the paper using your PC and printer. Cut the decorative paper into squares. The squares should measure the same as half the length of the long side of your main paper. So for A4, your wrap should measure 148mm x 148mm and for A5 105mm x 105mm. Roll up the paper to form a scroll, then wrap the decorative square around the scroll on the diagonal-the corners will overlap at the centre of the scroll. Use an elastic band to hold the scroll together while you tie the ribbon. We like to use 2 contrasting ribbons - take both lengths of ribbon together and tie around the scroll in a bow. Pull the ends of the narrower ribbon slightly so that one bow is slightly smaller than the other. Trim the ends of each length of ribbon on the diagonal to give neat ends. The tails of the narrower ribbon should be a little longer. Remove the elastic band. Leave plain or tuck a couple of flowers into the knot. For the pink scroll we used white mulberry paper with silver strands, pale pink rosebuds, 10mm fuchsia organza ribbon and 3mm white satin ribbon. The red vita paper scroll is available as a ready to assemble kit. We have a wide selection of scroll kits available in our on-line shop. To make a scroll with a cuff you will need:
Print your details onto the paper using your PC and printer. Cut the decorative paper into strips. We used a strip measuring 5cm x 12cm for our A4 scrolls. Roll up the paper to form a scroll and secure lightly with an elastic band. Place adhesive (we used an adhesive tape pen but you could also use double sided sticky tape) along the inside of one narrow edge of the cuff and secure around your scroll. Remove the elastic band and decorate as you wish. For the green scroll, we used light olive handmade paper, 10mm white organza ribbon and tiny calla lilies. For the cream/bronze scroll we used bronze pearlescent paper and an ivory satin heart. |
