DIY Wedding Trends for 2011 Part 2 - Colours
December, 14th 2010
Carrying on from last months articles on styles for 2011 this month we are looking at the hottest new colour schemes for the super stylish weddings of next year.
Turquoise & Gold
Turquoise and Aqua have been really big in the past year. For 2011 try adding a twist by mixing with gold for a very individual look.
For your stationery, team turquoise and gold flower paper with old gold satin ribbon.

Other items to try include our new Tapestry Broderie card in Aqua. With its fantastically on trend, bright colour and the elegant Broderie design, it is the perfect mix of simple style and a burst of modern fashion. Use with narrow gold cord or add a gold butterfly to complete the look.
For the reception, DIY water features such as ramekins filled with water and topped with a floating tea light are right on trend and won't hurt the wedding budget. Or add peacock feathers to tall table centrepieces.

Hot Tropics
You don't need to be flying somewhere hot to have a Tropical colour schemes. Mixing vibrant colours such as bright Orange and Fuchsia Pink will be one of the biggest trends for summer weddings in 2011.
For your stationery, use contrasting bright colours to make a bold statement like this Fuchsia double sided satin ribbon on a magnificently bright orange card (available to order - contact customer services). Try finishing off your stationery with small diamantes or glittery embellishments such as Glitter Butterflies.

For your reception, use bold flowers like bright pink gerberas with exotic foliage or, if your budget allows, splash out with bird of paradise flowers (strelitza) or orchids. Tie bright organza bows on your chair backs and use tropical coloured sweets as favours.

Chocolate & Pastels
Soft pastel pinks, blues, mints and lilacs are always favourites and you can bring them bang up to date by teaming with chocolate brown.
For your stationery try mixing 2 or 3 complementary ribbons together in a luxury bow against a brown card - like this tapestry brown card with coffee and pink ribbon.

For your reception, try a chocolate cupcake tower with pink icing flowers or a chocolate cake with ribbon in your chosen pastel shade.
