Tips And Techniques

Tags are a great way to DIY your wedding reception - add them to favours, use as placenames or labels for a buffet.
It can be tricky to find ready made tags in the right size or colour but luckily they are very easy to make yourself and decorate.
Use this template, plus a paper trimmer and/or sharp scissors to cut luggage lable style tags from any card. Then simply punch a hole using a standard office hole punch and decorate as required.
This template is for a tag measuring 8cm x 5cm. Simply right click, save onto your computer, import into MS Word (or other program) and print onto plain paper. If you would like a different size, you can resize the image in Word - right click on the image, choose Format Picture then go to the size tab and enter the dimensions you require.
Once you have printed your tag template, cut it out.
Now cut rectangles of your chosen card to the same dimensions as the tag - a paper trimmer is best for this. Place the template over each rectangle and trim the corners.
Using a normal office hole punch, make a hole in the centre of each tag (try it on the template first to get the position right).
Finally, decorate your tags - we used 3mm satin ribbon and a mini pearl heart in purple.
